Im August in Schottland eine bezahlbare Unterkunft
zu finden, war fast unmöglich! Doch hatte ich nach 3 Tagen recherchieren auf
allen Kanälen wieder Glück und fand eine Wohnung ganz im Norden von Schottland,
in der Nähe wo die Fähren zu den Orkney und Shetland Inseln fahren... und diese
hatte ich im Visier, sobald ich dort eine Unterkunft finden würde!
So ging es am Mittwoch 200 km Richtung Norden mit
vielen interessanten Stopps: Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch (Castlr) und Dunrobin
Castle... einfach nur traumhaft... : )
Finding an affordable accommodation in Scotland in August was nearly impossible! But after 3 days of searching on all channels, I got lucky once again and found an apartment in the far north of Scotland, close to where the ferries depart to the Orkney and Shetland Islands... and that was on my mind, as soon as I would find a place to stay there!
Thus on Wednesday, I headed 200 km north with many interesting stops: Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch (Castle) and Dunrobin Castle... simply breathtaking... : )

In Wick ging ich das Nötigste einkaufen und
bewunderte unterwegs die hübsche Landschaft nach Auckengill bis ich zu meinem
Duart by the Sea (https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/The-Highlands-Caithness-Sutherland-Loch-of-Auckengill/Duart-At-The-Sea-1148932.html) Cottage gelangte.
In Wick I bought the essentials and admired the beautiful scenery along the way to Auckengill until I reached my cottage, Duart by the Sea (https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/The-Highlands-Caithness-Sutherland-Loch-of-Auckengill/Duart-At-The-Sea-1148932.html).

Der erste Tag war Strandwetter, was ich natürlich
ausnutzte - und das im hohen Norden! : )

Danach war es meistens grau und nass und
ungemütlich kühl draussen. Trotzdem reichte es für eine kleine Runde nach Wick.
Thereafter it was mostly gray, wet and uncomfortably chilly outside. Nevertheless, I took the chance for a short round to Wick.

Und natürlich ging ich auch diese Woche auf meine gewohnten Joggingrunden - wo auch immer auf diesem wunderschönen Planeten, es tut gut für Körper, Geist und Seele und birgt immer wieder eine Überraschung…
Ich hatte viel Zeit um meine Weiterreise zu den
Orkney und Shetland Inseln zu organisieren... oder gegebenenfalls zu
vergessen... Aber die Fähren hatten wieder Platz und auch einige wenige
Unterkünfte waren zu haben - die nächsten Etappen sind geplant! : )

And of
course, I went on my usual jogging routes this week too – wherever on this
beautiful planet, it's always a treat for body, mind and soul and always holds
a surprise…
I had plenty of time to organize my onward journey
to the Orkney and Shetland Islands... or perhaps forget about it... But the
ferries showed availabilites and there were also a few accommodations available
- the next legs are planned! : )
