Und wieder hatte ich Glück etwas Bezahlbares Richtung Norden gefunden zu haben... richtig gesagt: 100 km Richtung Westen nach Tornagraine bei Inverness auf meinem Weg in den hohen Norden… in eine sehr spannende Region, diesmal für 9 Nächte. Ab September soll es etwas besser werden, was Unterkünfte betrifft, sagen mir die Leute...

And once again I was lucky enough to find something affordable on my way north... or rather, 100 km west to Tornagraine near Inverness on my way to the far north... to a very exciting region, this time for 9 nights. And people tell me things in terms of accommodations are supposed to get a bit better from September onwards...

Um 15:30 Uhr traf ich im The Nook (https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/The-Highlands-Ross-shire-Culloden-Ho-Hotel/The-Nook-1001297.html) in Tornagrain ein. Es liegt ideal: 15 Minuten östlich von Inverness in der Nähe des Flughafens. Ein hübsches Dorf mit einem Laden gleich gegenüber der 7 Tage bis 22 Uhr offen ist. Zum Joggen gibt es einen wunderschönen Wald und einmal ging ich dafür ans Meer. : )

I arrived at The Nook (https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/The-Highlands-Ross-shire-Culloden-Ho-Hotel/The-Nook-1001297.html) in Tornagraine at 3:30 pm. It's ideally located: 15 minutes east of Inverness, near the airport. A pretty village with a shop right across the street that's open 7 days a week until 10 pm. There's a beautiful forest for jogging… and I even went for a run on the sea once. : )

Seit 5 Jahren wechsle ich mein Zuhause fast wöchentlich... eigentlich habe ich gar kein Zuhause, nur ein Lager in der Schweiz, das gerade von Motten befallen wurde! : ( Die Globetrotterei hat aber viele Vorteile, wie zum Beispiel: Man bleibt lebendig weil man immer sich immer in eine Richtung bewegt und Neuem anpasst, und man muss nie richtig putzen! : ) Manchmal weiss ich nicht, wo ich bin, wenn ich am Morgen erwache... dann erinnere ich mich, dass ich auf der Erde bin... ah ja: in Europa, Schottland... und dann sehe ich es langsam auf meiner mentalen Karte, aber die Namen der Orte und Wohnungen fallen mir nicht immer gleich ein…

Alles, was ich benötige, ist in meinem Auto, das vollgepackt ist, inklusive einer Dachbox... in meinem Lager befinden sich eigentlich nur Dinge, von denen ich mich noch nicht trennen kann… In meinem Auto habe ich 2 Kleiderkoffer und alles andere in vielen Taschen verpackt, die jede ebenfalls eine Geschichte erzählen kann... Ich habe Küchentaschen, Schuhtaschen, eine Sockentasche, Schaltasche, Jackentasche etc. etc. und sogar eine Taschentasche, ein Zelt und einen Gaskocher! Das wöchentliche Packen kann man mit Tetris vergleichen... aber alles hat seinen Platz und ich merke sofort, wenn etwas fehlt!

For the past five years, I've been changing my home almost weekly... actually, I don't really have a home, just a storage room in Switzerland which currently is infested with moths! : ( Globetrotting has many advantages though, like: You stay vibrant because you're always moving and adapting to new things, and you never really have to clean your house! : ) Sometimes I don't know where I am, when I wake up in the morning... then I remember I'm on Earth... ah yes: in Europe, Scotland... and then I slowly see it on my mental map, but the names of the places and apartments don't always come to me right away...

Everything I need is in my car, which is packed to the brim, including a roof box... my storage space basically only contains things I can't part with yet... In my car, I have 2 suitcases full of clothes and everything else is packed in many bags, each of which could tell a story... I have kitchen bags, shoe bags, a sock bag, a scarf bag, a jacket bag, etc., etc., and even a bag bag, a tent, and a gas cooker! Packing every week is like playing Tetris... but everything has its place and I notice immediately, if something is missing!

Was mir in den letzten Jahren sehr bewusst wurde ist, dass Zeit ist der grösste Luxus! : ) – So bin ich seit 5 Jahren unterwegs und auch hier in Tornagrain hatte ich viel Zeit, mehr als eine Woche. Gut so, dennum Inverness gibt es viel Interessantes zu entdecken... ich begann mit der näheren Umgebung: Das Fort George und Nairn auf der Halbinsel Carse of Ardesier...

What I've become very aware of in recent years is that time is the greatest luxury! :) – That's how I've been traveling for the last five years, and here in Tornagrain I had plenty of time, more than a week. Which is great, because there's so much to discover around Inverness... I started with the immediate surroundings: Fort George and Nairn on the Carr of Ardesier peninsula...

In Inverness verbrachte ich gleich 2 Tage: einen in der Stadt und auf einem Spaziergang zu den und über die Ness Inseln und einen SPA-Tag im Inverness Palace Hotel (https://www.invernesspalacehotel.co.uk/leisure-club-spa/spa-offers). : )

I spent 2 days in Inverness itself: one exploring the city and walking to and across the Ness Island, and a spa day at the Inverness Palace Hotel (https://www.invernesspalacehotel.co.uk/leisure-club-spa/spa-offers). : )

Und noch einmal zog es mich in die Highlands... eine hübsche Runde vorbei am Cawdor Castle, Ardclach, Loch Lindorb, Aviemore und Carrbridge.

And once again, I was drawn to the Highlands... a lovely loop past Cawdor Castle, Ardclach, Loch Lindorb, Aviemore, and Carrbridge.

Am Montag war bestes Wetter angekündigt und ich ergatterte am Nachmittag einen Platz mit ecoventures (https://www.ecoventures.co.uk) in Cromarty zu den Delfinen! : ) Das gab mir eine gute Gelegenheit die Black Isle auszukundschaften… und wir sahen sicher 100 Delfine! : ))

The weather forecast for Monday was just perfect and I managed to snag a spot in Cromarty with ecoventures (https://www.ecoventures.co.uk) to see the dolphins! : ) This gave me a great opportunity to explore the Black Isle… and we must have seen at least 100 dolphins! : ))
