Um 17 Uhr erreichte ich das Willow Cottage (https://www.anchorbayholidays.uk/accommodation/willow-cottage) in der Bay Filey Anlage in Filey,
Yorkshire - sehr hübsch und sehr gross, vor allem nach meinem Apartment The
Hidden Gem (https://www.thehiddengems.co.uk). Ich richtete mich freudig für
eine Woche ein und inspizierte Umgebung.
At 5 pm, I arrived at Willow Cottage (https://www.anchorbayholidays.uk/accommodation/willow-cottage) in The Bay Filey complex in Filey, Yorkshire – very pretty and very spacious, especially compared to my apartment The Hidden Gem (https://www.thehiddengems.co.uk). I happily settled in for a week and explored the surroundings.

The Bay Filey trohnt hoch über einer Buchtumrahmt
durch Kalkfelsen im Süden und rote Felsen am nördlichen Ende beim Ort Filey -
ideal für Spaziergänge und Jogging! : )
The Bay Filey is enthroned high above a bay, framed by limestone cliffs to the south and red rocks at the northern end near the village of Filey – ideal for walks and jogging! : )

Das Wetter wurde von Tag zu Tag schöner und wärmer,
aber immer ging ein Windchen, sodass ich beim Joggen eine Fleecejacke trug...Einmal
sprach mich jemand an und sagte: Wow, du bist aber diszipliniert bei dieser
Hitze joggen zu gehen! - Ich schaute ihn verdutzt an und zeigte auf meine
Jacke... Ich erinnerte mich an meinen Sommer in Irland vor 4 Jahren (https://franziskaaeschbach29.blogspot.com): bei 17° liefen die Iren halb
nackt herum... und so tun es auch die Briten...
The weather got nicer and warmer every day, but there was always a breeze, so I wore a fleece jacket while jogging... Once, someone approached me and said: Wow, you're really disciplined to go jogging in this heat! - I looked at him puzzled and pointed to my jacket... I remembered my summer in Ireland four years ago (https://franziskaaeschbach29.blogspot.com): at 17° C the Irish were walking around half-naked... and so are the British...

Am Mittwoch machte ich eine kleine Tour Richtung
Süden. Weil es am Mittag schon fast 30° C war, entschloss ich mich zuerst für
eine Siesta am Strand.... genial! Weiter gingt es für einen Spaziergang hoch
über den Bempton Cliffs (https://www.rspb.org.uk/days-out/reserves/bempton-cliffs), wo viele Vögel brüten, unter
anderem auch Papageientaucher! : )
On Wednesday, I took a short trip direction south. Since it was already almost 30°C by midday, I decided to start with a siesta on the beach... fantastic! Then I went for a walk high above the Bempton Cliffs (https://www.rspb.org.uk/days-out/reserves/bempton-cliffs), where many birds nest, including puffins! : )

Am Donnerstag stand York auf meinem Programm, das
mir meine Tochter Melanie empfohlen hatte. Ein echt tolles Städtchen, nur
gerade 1 Stunde Fahrt von Filey, aber es wimmelt mit Touristen…

daughter Melanie had recommended. A really great little town, just an hour's
drive from Filey, but it was packed with tourists...
