Am Dienstagmorgen war um 6:30 Uhr Tagwache und 1 Stunde später waren wir mit zwei Autos unterwegs zum Flughafen. Melanie gab ihr Mietauto zurück und ich durfte mein Auto dort stehen lassen um meiner Tochter mit Hannah, Aline und drei grossen Koffer zu helfen... und das war gut so, denn es hatte viele Leute und während ich mit den Kindern auf die Toilette ging, konnte Melanie ihre Koffer umpacken! Danach ging alles schnell: Die drei waren weg und ich auf dem Weg nach Queensferry...
Weil es erst 10:00 Uhr morgens war, entscheide ich mich für einen Spaziergang unter den drei Brücken und ein Frühstück im Little Bakery (https://littlebakery.co.uk).
On Tuesday morning, we were up at 6:30 am and an hour later on our way to the airport in two cars. Melanie returned her rental car and I was allowed to leave mine there to help my daughter with Hannah, Aline and three large suitcases... which was a good thing, because it was crowded and while I went to the restroom with the children, Melanie was able to repack her suitcases! After that, everything went very fast: The three of them were gone, and I was on my way to Queensferry...
Since it was only 10 am I decided to take a walk under the three Bridges and have breakfast at Little Bakery (https://littlebakery.co.uk)...

Darauf fuhr ich 150 km Richtung Nordwesten... einen Halt zum Einkaufen und einen zum Vertreten im Dunkeld, und schon traf ich im Garden Lodge Cottage, The Firs (https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/Speyside-The-Cairngorms-Bridge-of-Tilt/Garden-Lodge-1153159.html) in Bridge of Tilt neben Blair Atholl Castle (https://atholl-estates.co.uk/blair-castle) ein. Diese Wohnung hatte ich vor 3 Wochen gebucht, weil ich sah, dass ist ziemlich schwierig war im Juli und August eine Unterkunft in Schottland zu finden... und um die Zeit mit meinen drei Liebsten unbeschwert geniessen zu können!
Thereafter I drove 150 km direction northwest... stopping once for shopping and once for a walk in Dunkeld, and soon I arrived at Garden Lodge Cottage, The Firs (https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/Speyside-The-Cairngorms-Bridge-of-Tilt/Garden-Lodge-1153159.html) in Bridge of Tilt, next to Blair Atholl Castle (https://atholl-estates.co.uk/blair-castle). I had booked this cottage three weeks ago because I saw how difficult it was to find accommodation in Scotland in July and August... and I wanted to be able to enjoy my time with my three loved ones without any worries!

Das Wetter war meist kühl und nass, aber ich hatte mich gemütlich eingerichtet und viel Arbeit nachzuholen... Die Umgebung um Pitlochry ist wunderschön und lädt zu buchstäblich zu Spaziergängen oder Jogging-Runden ein...
The weather was mostly cool and wet, but I had settled in comfortably and had a lot of work to catch up on... The area around Pitlochry is beautiful and practically begs you to go for walks or a run...

Hingegen ganz unbeschwert konnte ich mein Cottage in Bridge of Tilt nicht geniessen... erstens, weil sich die Suche nach einer Unterkunft in Schottland sehr schwierig erwies und zweitens, weil am 31.7. am Morgen plötzlich das Internet ausgeschaltet wurde... was die Suche natürlich noch schwieriger gestaltete! Die Besitzer hatten das Anwesen der 1. August verkauft und deshalb wurde das Internet abgestellt... Am folgenden Tag kam aber die nette Julie mit einem Internet Modem zu mir, die überarbeiteten Besitzer hatten mir einen Engel geschickt! : ))
However, I wasn't able to enjoy my cottage in Bridge of Tilt without worries... firstly, because finding accommodation in Scotland proved very difficult, and secondly, because the internet suddenly went out on the morning of July 31st... which, of course, made the search even more difficult! The owners had sold the property on August 1st and that's why the internet was cut off... But the following day, lovelyJulie came to me with an internet modem; the overworked owners had sent me an angel! : ))
