Am Sonntag hatte ich 200 km Richtung Norden auf
meinem Programm. Auf dem Weg von Filey nach Newbiggin-by-the-Sea besuchte ich 2
wunderschöne Orte: Robin Hood Bay und Whitby. In Whitby war die
Fussgängerbrücke geschlossen.... obschon viele Passanten über die Barrikaden
kletterten und auf die andere Seite gelangten, beschloss ich per Auto auf die
andere Seite zu fahren...
On Sunday I had planned a 200 km drive direction north. On the way to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, I visited two enchanting places: Robin Hood Bay and Whitby. In Whitby, the footbridge was closed... although many pedestrians climbed over the barricades and managed to get across, I decided to drive to the other side.

Auf der Weiterfahrt Richtung Norden sah ich The
Marsden Grotto (https://marsdengrotto.com) in South Shields gross angeschrieben und versuchte mein Glück - der
Lift führte mich zu einer traumhaften Bucht - welch ein Glücksfall! : )
On my way north, I saw a large sign for The Marsden Grotto (https://marsdengrotto.com) in South Shields and decided to try my luck. The lift took me to a stunning bay – what a stroke of luck today! : )

Nachdem ich das nötigste eingekauft hatte, erreiche
ich um 20:30 Uhr ins The Mules Cottage (+44-7525 454 542) in
Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. Ich richtete mich im grossen Apartment mit 3
Schlafzimmern ein und fiel todmüde ins Bett.
After doing some shopping, I arrived at my apartment The Mules (+44-7525 454 542) in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea at 8:30 pm. I settled into the big apartment with 3 bedrooms and fell into bed exhausted...

Das Wetter war eher auf der regnerischen Seite
diese Woche, so dass ich mein Cottage genoss, viel vor- und nachbereitete und
meine nähere Umgebung zu Fuss auskundschaftete... Newbiggin ist ein kleines
Nest, das zwischen 2 Strandbuchten liegt. Es hat alles, was man braucht:
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind zu Fuss erreichbar, nette Cafés an der
Strandpromenade laden zum Verweilen ein und es hat sogar die tolle Sea View Sauna (https://www.cafeneedleseye.co.uk/sauna) mit
Meersicht und Abkühlung in der kalten Nordsee inklusive! : )
The weather was rather on the rainy side this week, so I enjoyed my cottage, did a lot of work and plannings and explored the closer surroundings on foot... Newbiggin is a small village nestled between two sandy bays. You can find everything you need: Shops are within walking distance, charming cafes along the seafront invite you to linger and there is even a fantastic Sea View Sauna (https://www.cafeneedleseye.co.uk/sauna) with sea views and a refreshing dip in the chilly North Sea included! : )

Am Mittwoch, als sich die Sonne wieder ein bisschen
zeigte, machte ich eine kleine Tour Richtung Süden... und landete im Nebel: Seaton Sluice und Saint
Mary or Bait Island.
On Wednesday, when the sun peeked out a bit, I took a short trip south... only to find myself surrounded by fog: Seaton Sluice and Saint Mary or Bait Island.
