Meine nächste Etappe Richtung Norden betrug nur 100
km... das hatte vor allem den Grund, dass ziemlich alles ausgebucht zu sein
schien - auch in Grossbritannien ist im Sommer die Hauptferienzeit! Und so
hatte ich viel Zeit die Küste abzufahren und einen ersten Blick auf meine neue
atemberaubende Umgebung zu werfen...
My next leg north was only 100 km... mainly because pretty much everything seemed to be fully booked - summer is peak holiday season in the UK too! Consequently I had plenty of time to drive along the coast and get a first glimpse of my breathtaking new surroundings...

Um 16 Uhr erreichte ich The Stable Room (https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/the-stable-room-uk51595.de.html) in Berwick-upon-Tweed ganz im
Norden von Northumberland. Ein sehr kleines Cottage in einem schönen Garten
gelegen. Als ich mich mit dem Internet verbinden wollte, klappte es auf keine
Weise, so dass ich die Eigentümerin kontaktierte... nur um herauszufinden, dass
der Router zu weit vom Cottage entfernt im Haupthaus steht... Ich ärgerte mich,
weil es der höchste Mietpreis war, den ich bisher für eine Woche in
Grossbritannien bezahlt habe, und nicht mal das Internet funktioniert! : (
Heutezutage kann man ohne Internet fast gar nichts mehr erledigen - zum Beispiel das Reservieren und Buchen einer Ferienwohnung oder Hotelzimmer geht fast überall nur noch übers Internet... Es wird sogar erwartet, dass man digital alles versteht und selbst erledigt! - Aber gerade deshalb sollte Internet und auch KI für jedermann gratis und verfügbar sein!
At 4 pm I arrived at The Stable Room (https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/the-stable-room-uk51595.de.html) in Berwick-upon-Tweed, in the far north of Northumberland. A very small cottage situated in a lovely garden. When I tried to connect to the internet, it just wouldn't work, so I contacted the owner... only to find out that the router was too far away from the cottage, in the main house... I was annoyed because it was the highest rental price, I'd ever paid for a week in the UK, and the internet didn't even work! : (
Nowadays, you can hardly do anything without the internet – for example, reserving and booking a vacation rental or hotel room is almost exclusively done online… It's even expected that we understand the digital world and do everything ourselves! - But precisely for that reason the internet and AI should be free and available to everyone!

Ich reise nun schon mein fünftes Jahr konstant und
habe kein Zuhause - oder wie ich es sage: Ich bin überall zu Hause! : ) Deshalb
ist mir die Wahl einer Wohnung ziemlich wichtig: Ich möchte mich zuhause
fühlen... Und mit Internet hätte noch mehr ich auf- und vorbereiten können
diese Woche, denn die erste Hälfte war nur grau nass und kühl...

Am Mittwoch änderte sich plötzlich alles: Schon am
frühen Morgen stand die Sonne vor stahlblauen Himmel... das ganze drei Tage lang
mit wenigen Störungen von Wölkchen! – Also nichts viel los auf meine erste
kleine Tour Richtung Süden: Lindisfarne und Bamburgh… einfach nur traumhaft!!!
On Wednesday, everything suddenly changed: Early in the morning, the sun was shining already in a clear blue sky… for three whole days with only a few scattered clouds! – Therefore off I went to hit the roads for my first little trip direction south: Lindisfarne and Bamburgh… absolutely stunning!!!

nächsten Tag… es waren mur ein paar Kilometer zur Grenze - ein weiterer
fantastischer Tag in Eyemouth und St. Abb's! : )
Scotland in the north was on my itinerary the next day… only a few kilometres tot he border - another fantastic day in Eyemouth and St. Abb's! : )

Als krönenden Abschluss dieses wunderschönen
Stückchen Erde hatte ich Freitag eine Bootsusfahrt zu den Farne Islands mit
Billie Shield (https://www.farne-islands.com) gebucht. Um 15 Uhr starten wir
in Seehouses und fuhren direkt zur Inner Farne Insel, wo Tausende von Vögeln
brüten... darunter die lustigen Papageientaucher, die jedes Herz erwärmen und
ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht zaubern! - Absolut fantastisch und nicht in Worten zu
beschreiben… auch das Gekreische und die protektiven Angriffe auf unsere
Köpfe... Bevor es zurück nach Seehouses ging, tuckerten wir noch eine volle
Runde um die andern Farne Inseln...

As a crowning
finale to this beautiful corner of the world I had booked a boat trip to the
Farne Islands with Billie Shield (https://www.farne-islands.com)
for Friday. We departed from Seehouses at 3 pm and sailed directly to Inner
Farne Island, where thousands of birds nest... including the amusing puffins
that warm every heart and bring a smile to each face! Absolutely fantastic and
indescribabled… so are also their squawking and protective attacks on ourheads...
Before heading back to Seehouses, we cruised around the other Farne Islands…
